He who dares...

Our commercial video featuring the UK’s top Del Boy lookalike spearheaded a PR campaign which brought huge returns for new retail app Beanser.

App founder, Hiten Dave, wanted to disrupt a congested market with a bold strategy ‘he who dares’ and all that.

An influencer campaign seemed the most orthodox approach yet with estimated costs approaching six figures such a strategy was prohibitive for a start-up business. We decided to offer Beanser’s sample target market (above 40), national institution… Del Boy, well, the UK’s foremost Del Boy impersonator, Steve Rooney.

A mini-feature parody skit was filmed at The Belmont Hotel in Leicester, seeing Del come to terms with the modern world of apps.

The video won praise from the entertainment world including the BBC Television Publicity Department who said the video was “expertly shot” and “captured the entrepreneurial spirit” while David Jason’s agent also complemented our work.


The outcome

The campaign gained subsequent blanket national newspaper coverage in The Daily Mail, Sun, Mirror, Metro and Star. Beanser Founder Hiten Dave was featured prominently too propelling his ‘Beanser’ brand from start-up to standout.

To date, Beanser have surpassed both their first-year target for downloads and subscriptions by a factor of four.
