The Willy Wonka of Ice Cream

Consumer King were given the task of elevating Gallone’s brand to a national audience so the family run business could fulfil their goal of opening ice cream parlours throughout the UK.

Gaining coverage in national tabloids and midmarket newspapers we created a persona for owner Aldo Gallone as ‘The Willy Wonka of Ice Cream’ and devised a campaign around the company’s retro flavours Blackjack and Fruit Salad.

We’ve dealt with many PR and Marketing companies over the years and like to think we know the good from the bad and indifferent. Consumer King are exceptional!

The outcome

All coverage was successfully integrated by Gallone’s in-house social media team gaining positive traction across their customer-base and target market. Consumer King also organised events and parlour launches on behalf of Gallone’s. In August 2016, the opening of Gallone’s Bournemouth was attended by local MP Conor Burns, two premier league footballers and Hot FM who broadcast live from the event. Coverage also included two-page lead articles in The Bournemouth Echo.
